The topic was a landscape scene using oil pastels. a perfect opportunity to demonstrate a technique not used in affluent societies. The technique was born out of necessity to teach schoolchildren to be creative with limited available resources. You can read more about this in my Blogs BUT HERE IS WHAT THEY THOUGHT:- What an amazing evening we had with Jenny Whalley. I have attached pictures of her work as it progressed to a final painting using crayon and shoe polish. Absolutely amazing, thank you, Jenny, for a very entertaining evening and lots to think about with our own artwork.
The jazz band sketches show musicians in bright clothes, feet tapping as they play. Focusing on saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and the double bass, Jenny achieved her aim to capture the energy and feel of a live jazz performance. It was very entertaining watching Jenny tell her story on paper
HERE IS WHAT OTHERS THINK OF THE DEMONSTRATIONS
Jenny has form when it comes to demonstrating to us. Her choice of subject is always interesting, and her exuberant interpretations of the chosen scenes always inspire.
