Trip to Africa

It was back to my roots. January 2023 we Landed at Victoria Falls where 40 years ago we had our honeymoon. We stayed in the most wonderful hotel Palm River Lodge . All the rooms look onto the Zambezi River, not too close; leaving a passage for the big game to roam or walk through. The Hippos come out of the water at night too graze. The crocodiles float down the River, some pretty big fellows. The monkeys swing through the trees. Best of all we’re the Warthogs wondering around the campus enclosed with protective fencing.

I had an incredible opportunity to walk with a warden and sketch the warthog.

After an amazing 10 days it was back to a series of demonstrations . Adapting to given titles I demonstrated how to draw warthog in soft pastels, paint birds watercolour . The carmen bee eaters was my chosen topic, staying in an African mode.

Breaking away my 3rd demonstration of this year I decided to draw our local Swans in soft Pastel.
